Farming is in our blood.
The Tvrdik farm, located between Alexandria and Glenwood in west central Minnesota, hasn't stopped since it was established in the early 1900's. Ron and Jean are proudly homesteaded on the family farm and enjoy working beside their two sons, Bradley and Jeffrey.
Tvrdik Farms is a collaborative effort of hard work by each member of our family. When you're milking cows, raising feeder cattle, row crop farming, along with additional cash-rent row crop farming, there is never a shortage of things to do. Life rolls from one season to the next and I'm not talking spring, summer, autumn and fall. Our seasons run more like planting, spraying, haying, chopping, haying (again), and harvest. And through all the seasons, our cows, heifers, calves and feeder steers need to be taken care of every day.
Farming isn't an easy life, but it's a satisfying one. There's something about the plant growth cycles and birth (and death) and the constant changes that happen all around us. We're proud to be walking in the footsteps of our ancestors. We value our heritage and take care of the land using the best farming practices, whether it's land we own or rent. They say farming is in the blood, and for our family it seems to hold true.
